I'm In The Book! Ross Brand's 100 Livestreaming & Digital Media Predictions!
Ross Brand has done it again. He’s released another annual volume of Livestreaming & Digital Predictions and YOURS TRULY is in it!
I have a few thoughts to share but for starters you can pick up your copy at this link: 100 Livestreaming & Digital Media Predictions, Volume 4: Top Content Creators Help You Succeed in an Era of Rapid Change
A funny thing happened today when I went to purchase my own Kindle copy - I purchased it on my iPhone on my Amazon account. But I didn’t realize when I went to my desktop to read through it that I was logged in under Ally’s Amazon account and last year’s volume was in her library there. When I clicked on it I thought OH NO!!! They’ve got my 2023 prediction in the 2024 book!!!!!!! Lol.
Obviously I figured this out after a minute, but it got me to look at last year’s prediction. I should be doing that anyway. Last year I said in part (I won’t include the whole thing here) that new platforms would be vying to fill the void that the dumpster fire of Twitter/X was becoming and that one of them would gain traction with that opportunity.
Man was I spot on…..right?
Well almost.
Okay so I was half right...
I was 100% correct on new contenders vying - lo and behold Threads and Bluesky appeared. These weren't just the random apps on the fringe - Threads was an Instagram app and Bluesky was Jack Dorsey's new endeavor - the creator of Twitter. Heavy hitters indeed.
I was 0% on them gaining real traction. Threads is a complete joke - Zuck & Moceri have released their share of duds between them but sheesh.....what a flop. Bluesky isn't as crappy of an app, it just hasn't become relevant. Yet? I don’t know if it will get there….
So that brings us to this year’s edition. I do believe that there will be great opportunities this year in particular for brands online which I explain in my chapter - chapter 93 to be exact. I won’t provide any spoilers but suffice it to say I almost forgot what I had submitted and when I read it today I thought “damn that Doug Cohen knows what he’s talking about!”
I do. And so do the rest of the thought leaders in this book. Okay most of them. Hehe….
But each year I find myself taking notes and chasing down some tidbits as I flip through, and each entry is brief and easily digestible. You don’t need to sit down and plow through all the predictions at once. Let me know what you think!
